32×11.5×15 on factory 15×7 wheels?

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 5:20 pm

I’ve got a 97 Tacoma 4×4 w/ 15×7 wheels. Can I go from the stock 31"
tires to a set of BFG 32×11.5×15 without any negative effects. Is this
sufficient width for those tires?

4runner front end noise question

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 5:20 pm

greetings toyo truck gurus – just found this newsgroup and
thought I’d float my first question at y’all.  It’s probably
a standard & obvious one, but anyhow –

Just bought a ’94 4runner with 120k miles. LOVE it. Only
possible problem I’ve noticed is:
when the weather gets down to 0 degrees, the front left
wheel makes a rubbing noise when you start driving, and
especially when turning a corner.

Is this just a worn out universal joint or boot?
Should I take it to the dealer? Or is a local mechanic ok?
Or can I inspect & replace it myself?

thanks

FJ62 Heater problems

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 8:59 am

I’ve a (new to me) 1988 TLC FJ62. When driving in sub-freezing weather
the rear heater alternates between warm and cold. The front only gets
lukewarm. The temp gauge rarely makes it to 10% (0% being cold and 100%
being hot). The gauge will often just sit on the "C", but since it
occasionaly moves I assume it (sorta) works. I replaced the thermostat
with a Toyota 185deg thermostat (all they stocked).

Short of covering 1/2 of the radiator with cardboard, anyone have any
suggestions?

Thanks!

Lack of power in 22-RE

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 8:59 am

I have a ’92 Toyota 4WD 4 cyl. regular cab pickup, and I’ve had it for
almost a year.  I just keep feeling like the truck is an absolute slug
and I have to floor it just to get it to move (which in turn I don’t
do, cuz I don’t want to mess up my truck).  Mechanically it is perfect
(it’s at 150k miles), but it is seriously dead on the road when it’s
accelerating.  Is this normal?

Please help.
