HELLLPPP!!! 86 22RE A/C problem

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 8:25 am

Ok, I checked to see if the fan starts to spin if I turn the A/C on full
blast and it doesn’t. I tried looking for a fuse for the fan just to make
sure it wasn’t blown but I couldn’t find one. HELLLP!!!!! The a/c is cold
when I’m travelling around but at stoplights or stand still it starts to get
warm. There is air blowing thru the vents but I thought the fan behind the
radiator was suppose to kick on as well?

Battery Drain? T-100

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 8:24 am

I replaced the battery on my 58k mile 1997, 3.4, T-100 after having starting
problems and the original battery not holding a charge. I am now having
starting problems with the new battery on occasions after the truck has been
sitting
overnight (it won’t turnover, turn off the radio a/c etc. and it usually
cranks). The shop checked out the battery and alternator and said all ok.

Anyone had similar problems or any suggestions on where to start looking for
what is draining the battery?

Thanks

I hear nothing but good reports from people who use Zaino’s products
(http://www.zaino.com).   I placed an order a few weeks ago, planning to do
my black 2001 Accord EX V6, and my 2001 Desert Sand Toyota Tundra (in that
order).

Well, on Labor Day the wifey talked me into putting Olympic Waterguard on
our deck.  I moved the truck to the front of the house.  A few days later I
take a ride in the truck and it’s COVERED with the sealer.  I tried
everything to remove it.  Mineral Spirits (used for cleanup of the sprayer),
compound, enamel reducer, gasoline, nothing, but NOTHING would touch that
stuff after it dried.  A few people recommended I clay-bar the truck.  I
remembered I ordered the clay bars with my Zaino order.  I emailed Zaino
with a desperate plea for help.  I couldn’t believe it, Sal Zaino called me
a few hours later offering to help me with my disaster.  He also recommended
the clay.  I was skeptical after the enamel reducer and compound wouldn’t
touch it, but it worked like a charm.  I had to do the whole truck twice to
make sure I got it all.  I even clayed the windows and plastic at Sal’s
recommendation.  Sal has been emailing me answering all my questions.  This
is Customer Service my friends!

I then applied all the polishes according to Zaino Bros instructions.  Here
is what I had to do.

Washed with Dawn to remove all traces of Wax and dirt.
Clayed the entire truck (glass and plastic included).
Washed again.
Clayed again.
Applied Z1 Lock
Applied Z5 Polish
Waited 8 hours and then wiped down with Z6 Gloss Enhancer
Applied Z2 Polish
Wiped down again with Z6.
WHAT A FINISH!

I did my black Accord today.  It has a better shine now than when I drove it
off the lot.  The paint looks wet.  I plant to apply a few more coats of Z2
for a deaper shine.

Thank God I had this stuff available when I needed it.

2001 Sequoia engine mods?

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 8:22 am

Bought a new 2001 Sequoia Limited (silver/gray) back in May.   Plan on
switching over to Mobil 1 (synthetic) within a month, as we keep our vehicles
many years & miles… (just did the same to our 2000 E430 4matic).
On the 1995 Chevy Impala we used to have, we replaced the stock air filter
with a K&N cone, along with replacing the air intake "resonator" (spelling?)
with a straight pipe run from the filter to the engine.   Power, and especially
low-end torque increased enough to be felt by the "seat-of the-pants".    Yes,
intake noise increased, but it wasn’t an unpleasant sound.
My question is, what possiblities are there with the Sequoia engine?   Any
worthwhile mods out there?   This is our first Toyota, and before the (2000)
Mercedes, we owned only all American cars (Chevrolet)….we’ve seen the light
of superior quality, and aren’t going back!   ;)      Thanks!

Tacoma headgaskets

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 8:22 am

I have a ’95 Tacoma that is in need of head gasket repairs. I understand
there is a recall on certain models made in Japan. According to Toyota
mine does not fall into this recall. Has anyone had their vehicle
recalled for head gasket work?
I’m trying to find out if anyone is in the same position as me. I would
like to get Toyota to cover the cost even though my VIN# does not match
the recalled vehicles. Has anyone gotten Toyota to cover this work?
Customer Assistance would not authorize the repairs under warranty
Does anyone have any suggestions?

Also, I live in San Jose Calif. and would like to find a repair shop
that is reliable. Can anyone give me a recommendation?
Thanks

Tacoma vs. Tundra MPG?

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 7:45 pm

Wondering what the actual MPG is for the late model Tacomas with the V6
extended cab. Trying to decide between a Taco and a Tundra and the MPG
difference may help make up my mind.
Thanks!
