Very sensitive brakes on 2001 Doublecab 4×4

I bought the truck used,  and ever since I have had it the brakes have
been extremely touchy.  When I bought it,  the guy before me had over
inflated the tires and they were worn in the center.  He also had
aftermarket brake and gas pedals that I promptly removed after almost
having an accident.  I replaced tires and still have the problem.  I
have gotten used to it but it doesnt seem normal.  Anyone else that
drives it about puts me through the windshield when they stop.  Any
ideas?

Thanks!

Changing plugs in 99 taco.

Changed plenty of plugs before but not on my taco. Is there anything I
should now before I start that will make it easier? Looks like I’ll have to
remove a few things on the passenger side. Any tips greatly appreciated.

Be good.:-)

2003 Tacoma P225 vs P265 update

I got the truck yesterday, a 2003 4 cyl Xtracab. And this morning I put 16
inch rims on in place of the steels and went from the 225 tire to the 265
tire, BFG All Terrains. I also discovered the gear ratio is 3.91, which
according to toyota.com, is the gear ratio for all manual XtraCab’s
regardless of what size tire comes with them. So I should be ok except for a
slight speedo inaccuracy.

I must say, those tires and TRD wheels rock on that truck…it makes it a
whole new truck  haha!

New BFG All Terrains-what tire pressure

Just put some BFG All Terrain KOs on my 2000 4Runner 4×4.  They are
265/70/16s.  They have a max psi of 65.  What should I run them at for daily
road driving?  TIA

tundra 6 cyl

I liked the price of the Tundra reg cab with the six cylinder engine. I
don’t haul anything big. But, I’ve haven’t had a full sized truck.

Is that engine ok for a bigger truck?

no emissions

I have a 81toyota that has had an engin swap. The truck did run fin until I
went mud bogging and drove it home on three cylinders. My friend had
convinced me that the carberator had water in it.we swaped a spare one out
and rebuilt the one.  it was only water in the distributur cap. Ever sense
the truck has never run the same. I was wondering if i can get ride of all
the emissions stuff and run just the hoses that I need. In the shop manual
that i have the (canada RN 4×4) hose diagram makes much more sense it look
easy to do but I’m not sure.

Brake question – strange sound

2000 4Runner 4×4.  When I’m on a slight decline or incline, stopped,  and I
let my foot of the brake to go, I feel a thunk or clunk.  It’s happening
pretty much any time I’m at a stop light that turns green.  Anyone
experienced this?
