89' Toyota 5-speed pops out of gear

Hi all,

I have a problem with an ’89 Toyota 5-speed, 4-wheel drive pickup.
The shifter has recently started popping out of 3rd and 4th gear when
shifting.
Can anyone tell me what needs to be replaced/adjusted, and how hard is it to
do as a DIY project?

Thanks very much,
Shiftless

Hello,

Is there a passenger compartment filter on the ’03 Tundra?  If so, where is
it?  Thanks.

Husky floor mats – opinions

Anyone own Husky floor mats, the kind with the raised edges to trap snow &
water? If so, do they hold up well, especially around that high-wear spot
under the heel of you gas pedal foot?

What's different between Tundra '03-'04 models?

Dealer says nothing is different.  Of course he has a lot of ’03 models
still on the lot to peddle.  He can’t understand why he has so many ’03′s
although Dodge and Chevy discounted the heck out of the ’03 models to unload
them…and they did.

15K maintenance for 2002 tacoma xtracab 4wd automatic

I’m up for the 15K PM, and everything they list in the maintenance  I’ve
either done already myself, or can do it myself.  With that in mind, is
there any reason I’m missing to have it done at the dealer?

1994 22RE True Temperature

Please Advise,
i just replaced my head on a 22re engine in a 94 toyota pickup (4×4) due
to a defectively machined ramanufactured head. the machine shop said
that the heat plug was popped, meaning that it had overheated but even
after the head gasket was blown it never overheated according to the
temp guage. the guage seems to work fine with one exception,
occasionally the needle would fluctuate between cold and normal (from
normal to cold and back in about a second, over and over) then just stop
doing that, all the time running fine and never going past the normal
postion. the coolant level was fine during that time. any ideas what
could have caused the fluctuation and how i can make sure the temp guage
is always working properly since it usually seems to work fine? i know
the first thing anybody says with a overheating problem is to change the
thermostat, but at this point i don’t think it’s overheating, i just
need to make sure i can see it on the guage if it does overheat since
the machine shop says the heat plug was popped.  I have a chilton’s
manual but no real help for this problem and, of course, the parts
dealers at toyota are rude and don’t try to offer any help.

'01 Tacoma 5spd V6 burning smell

My pickup just turned 50K miles and I have been getting a burning
smell from the engine (Tacoma, 2001, manaual, V6). The burning smell
is not always present. I took it in for service and they told me I
needed a clutch. Surprised, it would be the first time in 4 manual
transmissions that I needed a new clutch (note: my wife did tow a
trailer across country). So I had them replace the clutch, and I still
get the burning smell on occasion. I have had no slipping, no
grinding, no problems with shifting.

Is this a transmission problem?
Do V6′s run hotter?
Any suggestions?

Any GOOD info on the prototype FJ Cruiser?

I have seen lots of pictures, and read specs that seem pretty unrealistic.
Still, I am seriously considering purchasing one when they come out, and am
starting to save for it now (as best as I can).  Anyone have info on the
estimated price, the gas mileage, will the production have 4 doors, etc
etc…  I guess I am just looking for more real world info.

Thanks.
