looking to purchase a 22re engine in or around saskatoon

I have a ’90 4-Runner with tinted windows.  I  recently noticed a "dot"
pattern on four of the windows with no pattern on  the other two.  I took it
to an auto tinting place and asked what was causing the problem.  They
looked at the window and didn’t see anything.  Then one of the them asked if
I was wearing polarized sun glasses.  I told them yes and I purchased them
about a week ago.  I took the glasses off and the pattern disappeared.

Any ideas why this pattern appears on some tinted windows but not others?

I have owned toyotas for 18 years,  and put a total of  500 000 km or so on
a  78 Hilux pickup ,89 4 Runner, and a 92 4 Runner.   All which I bought
used at around 100 000km.    Of those miles I put on them,  I’d say 150 000
km were on back roads and ROUGH duty off road.   I’ve pulled lots of full
size Pick ups and Suburbans etc out of mud holes with my little 22R motor.
Toyota should hire me to test their trucks,  cause if it’s gonna break,
I’ll break it.
Out of all those years and trucks,  the only thing I ever had problems with,
is water pumps.    For some reason I went through one every 100 000 km,
and I’d say that’s not too bad.    I did the usual maintenance,  clutches,
starters, etc.    But nothing ever failed until I’d driven them to at least
150 000 km or so.

Last year,  I bought a new 2003 Tacoma V6 auto 4×4,  with the past
reputation in mind.     I didn’t even have it home yet and I discovered that
the cruise control didn’t work.   Since then I have had it in the dealer for
the following (including the cruise)

-Cruise control non functioning    Some kind of relay replaced  (0km)

-Valve clearance not set right from factory,  (ticking, noisy)  Needed to be
opened up and reset.     (2000 km)

-Dash board on passenger side makes noises when cold   Waiting till winter
to complain on this one.  ( 20 000 km)

-Front right marker light fogs up after washing car for at least a week
Replaced. (25 000 km)

-Front shocks leaking and shot,   Replaced. (25 000 km)

-Button to release head rest, pops out and won’t go back in.   Entire
assembly in seat replaced  (30 000 km)

So far that’s it,  but I’m somewhat concerned about what I will notice next.
I wonder if the quality has gone down since these vehicles have been made
outside of Japan.    All my others were made there.     Has anyone else had
any of these or other problems with newer Toyota trucks?

I just bought a 1987 Toy, cab is in great condition, no dents no rust that I
ca see.  The bed, of course, has rust in front of the left rear wheel and
around the fuel cap lid area.  Does anybody have any info on how to remove
the rust?  I think it is completely through the outside layer and I am
probably sure that I am going to have to cut that area out and replace with
clean metal.
Problem is, I don’t know how to do this.  Any info would be greatly
appreciated, i.e. websites.

I have a 2001 toyota tundra, i just bought from the dealer with 34,000
miles on it. i like Toyota anything, but one thing i don’t like about my
full size truck’s V-6 motor is the fact that it uses an internal timing
belt(?)
because of my not so good credit, i am paying what the truck cost new,
even though it is nearly 4 years old. since that is the case, i want to
make the truck last as long as i can. is there a timing CHAIN conversion
kit? or a timing GEAR conversion kit? i would rather spend some $ now,
rather than lots more $$$ later.
does anyone know if there is a such thing?

I would like to install a window module on a 95 4Runner to roll down
the hatch window via alarm and was curious if I can get the wires from
the switch and not the motor which is in the tailgate.
For obvious reasons, getting the wires at the switch in the center
console would be easier to get to than in the tailgate.
Anyone accomplished this???

I have at 01 Tacoma 4X4 V6 5-Speed.  I bought it used with 39K miles.

If I try to get up to speed quickly from a stop I usually shift around 3000
rpm or higher.  The engine is really smooth up to about 2800 rpm but right
around 3000 rpm there is significant engine vibration.  I can really feel it
in the gas pedal and the clutch and in the steering wheel to a lesser
degree.  If I rev the engine above 3000 rpm the vibration lessens but it’s
definitely still there.  The vibration is very pronounced in 1st through 3rd
gear.  When I’m in 4th and 5th gear I don’t feel it as much.  But, in 1st
though 3rd I don’t even have to look at the tach or hear the engine to know
when I’m at 3000 rpm…I can feel it in my right foot.

I usually shift around 2500 rpm so most times I’m don’t deal with the
vibration.

Initially I thought maybe I had an engine mount problem but I haven’t really
begun investigating.  Thought I’d start in the newsgroup.  Thanks for any
