94 v6 cold idle

Hello all….

I’ve got a 94 ext cab v6 4×4.

The motor is idling cold at about 2000 rpm.  This seems a little high to me.

Anybody know what the spec is or where I could find it?

Thanks

please define "cold idle". you mean when you first start it up?

fwiw, my 94 V6 initially idles around 1400rpm after sitting all night (it’s
been freezing here). once into gear or warmed up, it idles around 800rpm –
which is the factory spec, plus or minus 50rpm’s.

So does mine, I had always assumed it was the fan but I’m not sure why it would be
engaged at startup and then disengage all on a cold engine.
