Any suggestions for a good do it yourself bug deflector kit? With spring
coming, I’m having a hard time seeing through the 75 layers of bugs on my
windshield.

Go with the Lund Intercepter cuz threre are no peices that stick to your
hood and they are the coolest looking, I got mine installed for what most
places want for it $62…

The Toyota hood protector ($75 at the Toyota dealership) only protects
the tip of the hood from rock chips. It flips the air around so all
bugs get splattered on the upper half of the windshield (the one I use
to see through). It also makes the rear end of the hood and the side
mirrors vibrate on my ’99 Prerunner and creates more wind noise. I did
not notice much gas mileage reduction after I installed it.
I kept it on for three reasons:
1. already paid for it
2. it does protect the hood from rock chips
3. the rig’s front looks better
