In dash MP3 CD players…opinions?

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 1:43 am

I spend a lot of time in my 4door prerunner and I’m seriously thinking about
replacing the indash CD player for an indash MP3/CD player.  Anybody know
the best models for fitting in the Tacoma???
Features??? Quality???

  1. Alpine, Kenwood, or Sony fit well.  Most have OEM mounting holes for
Toyotas.  On some websites there is a configurator program that will tell
you which models will your vehicle.  Try Crutchfield.com

  3. Yeah but is there one that doesn’t stick out and look funny
and still uses the diversity antenna?  I like the fit/look
of Toyota OEM stereo systems — but not the price or
    features.

  4. I’ve got  a sony in mine……..  I bought from crutchfield. They have
a good on-line tool to check for models that don’t require an adapter
    plate.

I can find the model number if you are interested……. dont’ know it
off the top of my head.  I have a 97 tacoma and the radio fits
    perfectly in the dash.

  5. I bought an Awia that fits nicely in my 95 4Runner.  It works ok, but if I
had to do it again, I would buy a regular CD player that is a lot higher on
    the options and quality.

  6. There’s only one in my opinion, Alpine CDA-7894.  They are going for less than $300 on E Bay and the features and appearance are incredible, love mine, highly recommended.
