Tacoma headgaskets

I have a ’95 Tacoma that is in need of head gasket repairs. I understand
there is a recall on certain models made in Japan. According to Toyota
mine does not fall into this recall. Has anyone had their vehicle
recalled for head gasket work?
I’m trying to find out if anyone is in the same position as me. I would
like to get Toyota to cover the cost even though my VIN# does not match
the recalled vehicles. Has anyone gotten Toyota to cover this work?
Customer Assistance would not authorize the repairs under warranty
Does anyone have any suggestions?

Also, I live in San Jose Calif. and would like to find a repair shop
that is reliable. Can anyone give me a recommendation?
Thanks

If your Tacoma is a 6 cylinder, there was a recall on it, but yours may
    have already been done.

My truck is a 6 cyl. and there was a recall on some of the vehicles but
according to Toyota Assistance center, my truck was not affected by the
recall. I’m trying to figure out what my options are. Do I have some type of
recourse with Toyota? If a few of the gaskets are bad, who’s to say mine isn’t
one of them? Any suggestions as to my next move?

the 89 v6′s were ok.  now that isnt to say that you wont have one or two
fail, thats called wear and tear.  having a huge amount is different.

Tim, all Tacomas in 95 and 96 were covered if they had the 3.4′s, and
    some early 97′s

If you email me the VIN, I can check it tomorrow for you. in my email
    address, change the 4oh to a 4zero
