My 94 22RE holed a piston due to a broken piston
ring which was probably caused by broken tensioner/guide
that allowed the timing chain to take chucks of metal out
of the cover thus loading the oil pan with various sized chucks
of aluminum. Well, live and learn. D.O.A. metal guides
are going in. I now need a serviceable cover.
Does anybody know if anyone sells an aftermarket cover?
Or does someone have a cover in good condition that might
be for sale??

no aftermarket covers,i was thru that 6 mo. ago,
its a dealer only item,
around 240-270.to the public
(in northeast Pa.)
if you know anyone with a garage, have them order it from the dealer, its cheaper
i got mine for about 180.
good luck,
Gary
Call these guys, they only sell Toyota/Lexus parts, they have just about
everything.
Nix99 Import auto recycling, 425-743-2881, I think they ship just about
anywhere.

I found this aftermarket source when searching for info on timing chains. I
have no idea how much their covers cost or how good they are.

At what mileage did this happen?
