hi ben, ive got an ’88 3.0 v6 from a 4 runner. its a factory crate motor with less than 35,000 miles on it. i have receipts showing where the engine was purchased/installed and how much it was ($3,700 roughly). it blew a head gasket and ive recently replaced them. the only problems that im aware of is that the valves need to be adjusted by the toyota dealer. i had to retap several of the cam bearing caps but now theyre probably stronger than they were when they were new. included with the engine is a complete injection system and all the emmissions components. ill take $1,300 for the engine (with a signed statement that i told you the valves need to be adjusted by the dealer) and if youve been pricing them lately, you know thats about half of what one with 100,000 miles on it in salvage sells for. im in north carolina and will ship if you pay the shipping charges. ideally if you could come here youll get a chance to drive the truck with the engine still installed before you purchase it. im selling it because im sick of dicking around with the v6. im going to do a v8 conversion as soon as it warms up.
